NFCA Membership Criteria.
Flooring contractors applying to join NFCA membership must:
- Have been in business for a minimum of 5 years.
- Provide their Provincial Workers Compensation Board identification number.
- Provide their business license number.
- Agree to provide a 2 Year 100% Maintenance Bond on QAP projects.
- Agree to provide Certified Installers as per PART A05 of the latest edition of the NFCA Floor Covering Reference Manual on QAP projects. Note: Recognized installer certification courses include Red Seal, INSTALL and approved Product Certification courses offered by NFCA member manufacturers.
- Agree to have flooring installers with a minimum 5 years of experience but with no certification, attend NFCA approved certification courses.
- Agree to provide a minimum of three references for current (work in progress) and three references for completed commercial projects (in the last three years from date of application) along with related supplier endorsements. Information required:
- Name and location of project.
- Name of manufacturer and product installed.
- Date of project completion.
- Provide proof of Certificate of Recognition (COR)- Certification for a Health and Safety Program (only if mandatory in your province).
- Agree to NFCA Code of Conduct.
- Obtain NFCA Board Approval.
Manufacturers / Suppliers / Distributors / Affiliates applying to join NFCA membership must:
- Agree to NFCA Code of Conduct.
- Provide a reference from one or more current NFCA manufacturer/Distributor members.
- Obtain NFCA Board Approval.
- Have a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience in relevant floor covering products.
- Provide details of their Canadian located distributor/s and/or provide a list of current sales and technical representatives.
- Provide proof of business registration in Canada when no distributor is used.
